CNC Setup Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating 5 axis milling equipment to produce components to customer supplied specifications. Duties include setting up tooling in our tool crib, setting up modular and custom work holding and fixturing, setting tool lengths, machine offsets and probing. CNC Machinist - 5 Axis is also responsible for working with programming and quality teams to produce a conforming first article and maintaining 100% quality during the production run.

• Experienced setting up and operating CNC Machining Centers including setting up tooling & work-holding
• Experienced with Fanuc machine controllers
• Strong understanding of blue print reading and understanding of GD&T 
• Strong understanding of inspection instruments such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges and thread gauges

• Minimum experience: 5 years as a setup machinist 

• Experienced setting up and operating CNC Machining Centers including setting up complex tooling and workholding
• Familiar with Fanuc controls with Siemens, Heidenhein and Mazatrol experience preferred
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading and understanding of GD&T as well as inspection instruments such as calipers, micrometers, pin gages and thread gages
• Minimum 5 years experience as a setup machinist
• Basic CAD/CAM experience preferred
