Job description:
The Quality Technician, reporting to the Quality Manager, has the responsibility of supporting the daily operational activities of the quality function. These responsibilities include:
• Following inspection forms to complete inspection steps at all stages of production.
• Use of hand gages to perform hand inspection (calipers, micrometer, thread gages, etc.).
• Operating Zeiss Calypso CMMs to inspect parts on proven-out programs.
• Perform high detail visual inspection, sometimes under magnification (5x to 50x).
• Verification of paperwork, certifications, and prior inspection data.
• Relaying inspection data to production in real-time.
• Able to interpret data and assist production with troubleshooting endeavors.
• Perform basic Zeiss Calypso CMM troubleshooting.
• Assist with first piece inspections.
• Assist with creating and compiling deliverable document packages in accordance with AS9100.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.

 
Experience Level 

 Qualifications:
• Acts with integrity and in an ethical manner.

• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Blueprint reading and interpretation including GD&T.
• Able to use hand gages (calipers, micrometer, thread gages, etc.).
• Operational knowledge of Zeiss CMMs.
• Ability to adapt to change in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Independently completes projects and manages time effectively.
• Able to use Microsoft Office (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook).
• Minimum 2 Years in an AS9100 / ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.

 
Education 

 In addition to the above, the following qualifications are a plus:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an AS9100 precision machining environment and/or aerospace production environment.
• Formal training and/or certification in the quality discipline (CQI, CQT, CQE, etc.).
• Higher education (associate degree or bachelor’s degree).
• Knowledge of quality control methods, techniques, and standards.
Physical Demands:
Required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms. The use of common hand tools and sharp tools are involved. The employee must be able to move and/or lift objects up to 30 pounds.
